At this point in 2020, we'd say most of us are virtually professionals at this whole working from home malarky. Sure, our computer screens may be being raised up by the mountain of books we swore we'd get through as part of a reading challenge, but we've mastered the art of the lie-in through commute o'clock, and the work attire from the waist up, comfies from the waist down look.

With that in mind, there's one thing we're making more effort to do regularly - making time for each other. Where we used to be able to have a natter around the kettle in the kitchen, or pop to the pub after work, or round to a friend's for a catchup, we're all a little more isolated than we used to be.

Enter stage left, the virtual tea break. This Friday, for World Kindness Day, we challenge you to make some time in your day to check in on someone you haven't been in touch with for a while - whether it's a colleague, a friend, or even your mom, share a brew and take some time to reconnect.

For a little inspiration, we asked some of team teapigs what their favourite thing about virtual tea breaks are. Here's what they had to say!

"I've not seen my family since Christmas so am embracing "virtual afternoon tea" and enjoying a natter and a cuppa with my nearest and dearest. I'd fully recommend it and if you want to crank it up a notch then try putting on your fanciest clothes to remind yourself what dressing up smart feels like!"

"Working from home gets lonely and you miss talking to people so having a quick chat, like you would in the kitchen at work helps to break up the day and stop you from telling your life story to the postman when they drop off a parcel."

"I've been having video tea calls with my friends so we can giggle at the work-wear we are getting away with whilst working from home! My favourite lockdown memories are from when we have online tea breaks and all hell breaks loose when peoples children, dogs, cats, birds, turtles, chickens and significant others all crash into the room at the same time"
