Most chamomile teas are made by crushing the flowers - not a nice thing to do. The best chamomile tea comes from brewing the whole flowers - which is exactly what we do. The Chamomile flower is celebrated for its health benefits, which include calming, aiding sleep and supporting digestion.

Louise Says

how does it taste?

A beautiful yellow cup which gives way to a sweet, surprisingly juicy flavour of chamomile. Naturally caffeine free.

good if you're feeling

Unable to switch off. One cup of this will calm any incessant mind-whirring, especially if you put your feet up whilst someone else makes it for you.

How we like it

Drink pure or sweeten with a little honey.

Just cover one tea temple with boiling water and infuse for 3 minutes. Remove temple and top-up glass with iced water. Sweeten with honey.

Brew Time

  • tea temple - 1 per person. Infuse in boiling water. Brew for 3+ minutes.

Whole flowers take longer to brew, but the little wait is definitely worth it.

Capital Camomile!

* * * * * by Lauren Hale • 2nd April 2015

“This chamomile is exceptional and without equal!

The chamomile from teapigs was actually the first one I ever drank, and it ruined me. Because, since then, I've unfortunately partook in some other brands from grocery stores for convenience sake, and I was revolted by all of them. Curse you, teapigs, for spoiling me!

I love this tea...”

Best Discovery

* * * * * by Melanie Wyss • 1st April 2015

“I discovered teapigs while on a trip to London this last summer. Chamomile was my first purchase and I have continued to order it back in the States. It is the perfect way to unwind after a stressful day.”

* * * * * by Jo Wattle • 21st January 2015

“I love a nice chamomile in the evening, but with store brands have to steep it forever or use multiple bags; with teapigs, I had great rich taste, no bitterness; just DELICIOUS!!!!”

* * * * * by Harleys mummy • 19th January 2014

“These pigs knock spots off the general camomile teabags that you get in the supermarkets, there is no comparison. They have a totally different taste. My job can be pretty stressful at times, these help me relax. Fantastic!”

The greatest tea?

* * * * * by ionamacd • 16th January 2014

“I have never really enjoyed herbal tea bags; I find the flavours are usually tart and overwhelming. I much prefer your 'usual' type of tea in a bag.

Until now.

Of an evening, I find myself putting the kettle on and reaching for one of these tea temples, instead of grinding coffee or brewing a standard cup of tea.

Simply delicious. I even drink instead of malt whisky from time to time. That is how ridiculously good it really is.”

* * * * * by Pharmorto • 5th December 2013

“Truly the best chamomile tea there is on the market, and I have tried many brands.

Taste is sweet and soothing all the same, really does make you feel relaxed, calm and always reminds me of a warm tranquil summers evening when I drink it. Great for beating the winter blues”

* * * * * by Chris • 25th October 2013

“Tried it for the first time today and was amazed, firstly by the colour then by the clean taste of chamomile.
I have seen this tonight being sold at a major supermarket at £4.00 per 15 temples, they also have a stock of various other flavours.”

* * * * * by Fay • 19th August 2013

“Never enjoyed chamomile before but it came as a sample and i've just tried it and it was delicious! Really, really nice. Definitely one of my top choice pigs. Try it if you're sceptical, you will enjoy! Having just got back from an amazing trip to Croatia the Croatian sourced chamomile serves as a perfect sunny reminder too! :)”

* * * * * by Jacqueline Kellett • 11th May 2013

“Never would of had me down as a chamomile drinker, just received my second order of teapigs and chamomile was the first one I tried. Lovely , you can easily get two decent cups from one bag.
Never seen such good quality tea, great prices. It's my new vice, forget shoes and bags it's tea (bags) from now on!”

* * * * * by Louise Hall • 18th April 2013

“I've never seen the appeal of chamomile tea - until now. This tastes light, sweet and almost slightly chocolatey. Delicious!”

* * * * * by Caroline • 30th January 2013

“I was given this as a gift and my whole family are now converted. This is delicious. No need to add honey, no bitterness, just perfect :)”

How chamomile SHOULD taste!

* * * * * by Adenh Tran • 14th October 2012

“Best Chamomile tea I ever try. Would highly recommended to friends,family and customer.”

* * * * * by Darren Holloway • 13th May 2012

“I wasn't a fan of Chamomile tea until I tried this in my swanky hotel room in London the night before an important exam. The taste has always put me off but this was like no other Chamomile brew I'd tasted before, a totally different experience. Fresh and instantly becalming. Oh, and yes, I passed the exam with a top-end credit. Nice one flowers.”

Childhood Memories - Delicious

“This tea reminds me of my childhood. Mom would go to local market to buy the chamomile flowers. Simply Delicious. Bought some tea for her too.”

Chamomile Perfection

* * * * * by Marj • 21st April 2012

“I had despaired of finding good chamomile tea in the UK until I tried teapigs. I had resorted to bringing supplied back from France until I discovered this lovely tea. It is perfect. Not a trace of dustiness - lovely juicy flowery tea.
Thank you again Tea Pigs”

* * * * * by Laura Pavey • 2nd December 2011

“I've always been a lover of chamomile tea since my dad introduced it to me when i was ill, but this one just took the biscuit! twinings was always my favourite, but teapigs will officially be filling my hot drinks cupboard from now on ... and the beauty of the tea bag makes the experience even better!”

* * * * * by Joanne Smith • 10th October 2011

“I've tried various chamomile teas in the past, and I've never been impressed by it - they were either bitter and nasty, or didn't really taste of much. Then I bought some from here, believing the hype that it should taste better, and it did! I actually enjoy a mahoosive mug of chamomile tea before bed whenever I feel I need a helping hand to wind down, thank you! :D”

Chamomile Tea

* * * * * by Dianne Owen • 10th October 2011

“The best chamomile tea I have ever tasted, highly recommended to chill out after a stressfull day.”

* * * * - by • 9th June 2011

“I have tried chamomile tea in the past as it is meant to help you get to sleep but it's always tasted bitter and unpleasant. I've been able to just about put up with the taste by adding honey.

Then I got a teapig sample of chamomile with my last order. I'm a convert!!! This is truly delicious. Not bitter, dry, dusty or unpleasant at all. It really does taste sweet and juicy and I'm about to order a box. And that's before I know if it will help me get to sleep or not.

I'll move my score up if it helps me sleep as well...”

Delicious and BEAUTIFUL!

* * * * * by • 1st June 2011

“I've already mentioned my foreign background in another review on well as having grown up in Luxembourg, I'm Italian and German, and my Italian roots are a big influence on my culinary tastes.

Chamomile Tea is given to infants and children all over Italy as a bedtime drink, so the smell and taste of this particular tea reminds me of childhood relaxation. It also reminds me of the many summers when my mother and I would pick chamomile flowers, boil them up and then pour the cooled chamomile infusion onto our hair after washing, before drying it out in the early evening sunshine to help bring out the natural blondness in our hair.

Having an infusion made straight from the flowers rather than a tea infused with the flavour & scent of chamomiles is amazing. It tastes, looks & smells fantastic!

Well done & thank you, Teapigs!!”

I know, I'm a heathen :(

* * - - - by • 23rd May 2011

“I know it seems a terrible thing to dislike Camomile, but I didn't enjoy it at all, it has a funny after taste I'm not keen on at all. I tried it pure, then with a spoon of sugar which helped a little, and then a touch of milk (I know, milk with herbal! Sacrilege!) and this helped even more, but then it just felt like having a normal cup of tea but with a funny taste to it :(

I'll stick to Morning Glory!”

Mellow Yellow

* * * * - by • 12th May 2011

“Has a mellow and subtler flavour than the average bag of chamomile, it's very pleasant and easy to drink. It lacks that horrible tangy bitterness that you normally get with ordinary chamomile also. I suffer from severe insomnia due to a medical condition that I have and although I can't say that the chamomile always helps me to sleep, it definitely always does relax and soothe me. & On a more superficial note....the little yellow chamomile flowers look lovely when they're infusing in the cup!”

I have fallen in Love :)

* * * * * by • 25th March 2011

“This tea is so beautiful. It has the scent of flowers and honey with the warmth of the sun. You think I may be going over the top :) but it has just a lovely effect on my emtional state. I would really recommend this tea to any one who is feeling a little low, this could really have a powerful effect.”

* * * * * by • 14th February 2011

I've just had a Mamapack from Daisychainbaby and there was a sample of the chamomile tea...I've just had it and OMG I have never had such a beautiful cup of tea!
Needless to say I'm just about to stock up!

No competition

* * * * * by • 17th December 2010

“I've just made up a camomile brew with a competitor's product, just to make sure that I'm not paying the extra here for nothing. No! After trying the Teapigs' stuff I now can't face the rest of theirs, and it's having to go in the bin.”

Camomile Tea

* * * * - by • 13th November 2010

“These T bags are really worth the money - each tea bag is full of flower heads - I manage to get 2 cups of tea per bag - these would make a lovely xmas present with a bed time read. Highly recommended.”

Emotional infusion

“The first Chamomile I've really enjoyed. It's evocative and has a gentle joy about it, soothing and full of late summer evening sunshine.”

Insommnia cure

“My favourite, so far. Good with honey. Great for chillaxing.”

So soothing...

* * * * * by • 14th May 2010

“This tea is just ridiculously relaxing - and has such a beautiful scent and taste. There's something very therapeutic about making a cup of Teapigs Camomile Flowers tea before bed and watching an episode of your favourite TV series with your jammies on.
Definitely a good one for those who get the fear on a Sunday - if you get it, you'll know what I'm talking about. An absolute treat.”

calmly does it

* * * * * by • 8th April 2010

“This tea is wonderful! I am not usually a huge tea fan - although tea pigs has about converted me to their brand - but one cup of this actually transports you to a place of clam and tranquility... Just waiting for it to brew actually makes you feel virtuous alone. Recommended naturally before bed, but also during moments of madness in the home to restore your little devils to the angels they once were... in your eyes at least!”

So much better than 'normal' teabgs

* * * * * by • 4th April 2010

“If your experience of Camomile tea is the 'normal' teabags you buy in the supermarket then don't let that put you off. This is soooo much better! The whole flowers mean you get a really non-bitter, smooth cup of tea that has so much subtle flavour. Nothing like what you're used to. Best without anything added. Oh and boy will you sleep after!”

Chamomile Flowers Templates

* * * * * by • 8th March 2010

“I'm no camomile novice but never tried one like this! I drink it 2 aid relaxation and sleep! This it did without doubt!! I bought th loose leaf n loved seein th pretty flowers swirlin! Th taste is most definately stronger than any regular camomile available(n trust me av tried th lot!!) not my absolute favourite teapigs creation taste-wize, but still better than any other camomile brand! Gud stuff!!”

“I never really like chamomile before but this is gorgeous. Thanks Teapigs.”

A good nights sleep

“Chamomile tea is just perfect to end the day with, either at bedtime or after a meal, it just makes you feel very calm and settled.”

Miss Natalie Bastianiello

* * * * * by • 26th August 2009

“I now looking forward to bedtime, as I've got into the good habit of brewing a cup of Chamomile Flowers to help me relax and unwind. The whole flowers really give the tea a rich, soothing taste - what a difference compared with other brands which contain ground flowers.

I've just place an order online for several teas, after becoming frustrated at not being able to find local stockists. I can tell I'll be a new addict to Teapigs!”

A Luverly Cuppa!

* * * * * by • 23rd August 2009

“I have to say I did ponder on whether or not go for the Chamomile when placing my order as I have always found that most of the Chamomile tea`s (including some of the more expensive brands) have always had a bitter after taste and not been very refreshing. Well, That was until now! I have since become a convert! Teapigs Chamomile has to be the best I have ever had the fortune to let pass my lips!!
It is not only soothing and slightly fruity but is also smooth with no bitter after taste at all! I highly recommended this tea for Chamomile & non Chamomile fans a like, I`m telling you it is so very different from all the rest out there.
The added bonus is also that all the little flowers are cutely compacted into the bag rather than being crushed, so what you end up with is a very pleasant cup of yellow sunshine -
something most of us could do with in rainy Britain!”

The Best..

* * * * * by • 16th March 2009

“I'm a huge fan of Chamomile tea and this has to be the best I've ever tried. I had my first cup in a great little tea shop in Ledbury and have been buying it on-line ever since! You wont just want to drink this tea to relax but because it tastes great too.”

* * * * * by • 12th January 2009

“Really, really works! Really calms you down and tastes GORGEOUS! My boyfriend thought herbal teas were for hippies and macrobiotic vegans only until he tried this, and loves it! Wonderfully flowery taste.”

Pakcing of loose

* * * * * by • 18th October 2008

“The tea is wonderful, just i was surprised when I opened the parcel. I love the design of the tiny steel box of all loose products. I actually bought a lot of those for my friends in my country. Hopefully you can send me the steel boxes for loose. It's so cute. Thanks.”

* * * * * by • 14th August 2008

Maggie :-)”

* * * * * by • 11th July 2008

A cup of glorious sunshine

* * * * * by • 24th May 2007

“beautifully, delicate flavour. Lovely fragrance, not at all heavy or overbearing. It literally tastes like a cup of the warmest summer day, with the sun high in the sky relaxing in a peaceful country meadow. Bliss!”

Unlike any other camomile tea

* * * * * by • 20th March 2007

“I've never liked camomile tea before as other brands I've tried have always tasted not much better than plain water, or have smelt good but disappointed taste-wise. This, though, is lovely, with a proper flavour and I can't imagine anyone disliking it. It also looks really pretty, with the little flowers!”

So relaxing........
